Brandon Trust is hosting a Forest School at Elm Tree Farm, Stapleton BS16 1AA for young people with Learning Disabilities between the ages of 16 and 25.

Wednesday 7th August 8.30am-3pm
Wednesday 14th August 8.30am-3pm
Wednesday 21st August 8.30am-3pm
Wednesday 28th August 8.30am-3pm

There will be one support worker to every three young people to help out with the fun activities of Den Making, Exploring and Outdoor Cooking!

£50 per day

Clean Air Zone in Bristol – Have your Say

Official Banner for Bristol City Council’s Traffic Clean Air Zone

Bristol City Council is consulting on two options for a Traffic
Clean Air Zone to control the effects of vehicle pollution.

The two options aim to protect public health and reduce harmful levels of nitrogen dioxide to within legal limits.

The consultation runs until Monday 12 August 2019. The Council are running Drop-in sessions at the Following Locations:

Deaf Dementia 2 by the Deaf Studies Trust

July 18th – 6pm to 8pm at Vassall Centre, Gill Avenue, Bristol BS16 2QQ

Guest speaker Emma Ferguson-Coleman of the University of Manchester will be discussing the following:

  • what dementia is
  • stories from the Deaf community
    about living with dementia everyday
  • communication with BSL-users with dementia & families

It’s free and All are welcome to attend. BSL Interpreter’s will be in attendance.

The RNIB and Peoples Views survey

RNIB and Peoples Views are looking for blind and partially sighted people aged 45 years to 75 years who have only been registered blind or partially sighted in the last 3 years; and, additionally, people aged 75 years and over who might have been registered for longer (they can take someone 75 years + who has an age related condition).

The RNIB wish to explore how the organisation can better engage with blind and partially sighted people.

The workshop will include a £100 thank you for taking part.

They are also offering support with travel costs and those of a chaperone if required on an individual needs basis.
