WECIL Taxi Focus Group
Earlier this year we asked our community to take part in a survey about their experiences of travelling by Taxi. We found that one third of respondents had been refused travel by a Hackney Carriage or a Private Hire Taxi.
Our community members cited poor communication, lack of wheelchair accessibility and a reluctance from drivers to accept guide dogs as the main barriers to accessing Taxis in Bristol.
What are we going to do next?
We have organised an online meeting with the Bristol City Council Licensing department for members of the community to attend and share their experiences of travelling by Taxi. The meeting will be held on Wednesday 7th October at 17.30. The meeting is open to disabled people who would like to talk about their experiences of using Taxis in Bristol. There are a limited number of spaces and we will be operating on a first come, first serve basis.
You can find more details about the first group and book a space here https://wecil.co.uk/2020/09/16/taxi-focus-group-book-here/.
