It tells people about the Clean Air Zone, the new scheme that will mean cars that make dirty air will have to pay to go through the centre of Bristol. It also says what Disabled people might want to do about it.

Help Decide How Many Is Spent In Bristol

Help decide how money is spent on communities buildings and accessibility in Bristol.

The fund is looking for Disabled people to better understand what our community needs and how to spend the money to meet our needs.

You will be paid for taking part.

Become a Trustee for Shop Mobility

Bristol Shop Mobility is looking for Trustees.

They do very important work enabling Disabled people to get around the City Centre.

Duties include:

  1. Turning up to and taking part in Trustees meetings.
  2. Meeting the charities rules and the law.
  3. Helping the manager and staff members in the running of the charity and helping decide how would be best to deal with any issues.
  4. Always acting in the best interests of the charity.
  5. Helping make sure the charity exists for the future, not only for the short term but also longer term solutions.
  6. Letting them know any access issues in and around Bristol City Centre so we can work together to fix them.

This is an unpaid role with paid expenses.

FLY! Festival of Black Women’s Film Bristol Events

Sheba Soul Ensemble is running FLY! Festival of Black Women’s Film for Black History Month.

They have two programmes: Strong Women and one that unpicks racism in the UK now and in the past.

Bristol- Fly! Festival of Black women’s film

Watershed 16th October 1:30 pm -4:30 pm
Four films will be shown, including a trailer of several films made by Professor Ayisi. This we be followed by Opera, a short animation directed by Janelle Feng that offers a different angle on racism.

Online – Fly Festival of Black Women’s Film

30th October 7pm -10pm

Two of Oscar-nominated documentaries will be shown. Director Professor Florence Ayisi will be joining to present and discuss her films.
