- bring dedication to Disability Equality and/or
- has a skill necessary to the running of an organisation such as finance or HR
- feel passionately about making sure that Disabled people should be leading conversations that impact our everyday lives.

Being a BDEF Trustee – Role Description (Plain Text)
As part of our AGM, we will be formally selecting our trustees for 2026 which have to be agreed by members. As we have a recruitment process for our trustees, we wanted to highlight our trustee application process well in advance of the AGM so that potential trustees can be eligible to stand for selection by the membership in December.
Trustee recruitment is open at all times, however if you are looking to be selected at the December 2025 AGM meeting and get started with us quickly, please apply below by 11.59pm on 31st October 2025. You can also call us on 0117 914 0528 and we can send an application form by post.

Applications will be anonymised so the name of the applicant is not known to anyone on the recruitment panel.
We will accept applications in the forms of written word, voice recording and/or video if writing an application form isn’t the best format for you. Using the questions on the application form, you can send your response to [email protected].
We will not accept applications that appear to be written entirely by generative AI without personal input.
This recruitment round is ongoing.
We particularly encourage people with intersectional experiences to get in touch, including but not limited to:
- Disabled women, non-binary, trans or gender fluid people.
- Disabled people from racially minoritised communities.
- Those with mental health conditions or who are learning Disabled.
- Disabled people who also identify as LGBTQIA+.
- Disabled people with lived understanding of refugee or asylum experiences and/or systems (although must now have right to work in UK).
- Disabled people who have lived experience of gendered violence.
- People with a range of impairments or health conditions.
- Any other Disabled individuals with lived experience of multiple marginalisations.
