There are two types of members for Bristol Disability Equality Forum: full members and ally members

Full Membership is open to any adult who identifies as a Disabled person and who lives, works or studies in Bristol. BDEF’s constitution says that ‘A Disabled person is someone who experiences discrimination on the grounds of a physical or sensory impairment, learning difficulty, long term life-limiting illness, or long term emotional or mental distress’.

We would like members to learn about and work towards Disability Equality and the Social Model of Disability.

Ally membership is open to non-Disabled individuals and organisations who actively commit to learning from Disabled people, taking action to dismantle barriers, amplifying Disabled voices, and using their power or resources to make lasting change.
