Our staff
Megan Belcher
Director
"I joined our previous organisation as a volunteer to capture the history of Disabled activism, worked at Bristol City Council for 4 years and then in a full circle moment have now returned back to the organisation I started in Bristol with. My goal is always to make sure that Disabled people are involved, connected and have choice and control over their everyday life."

Dan Bourton
Peer Support
"I run peer support sessions across the city and online and it is great to see people make connections with people they would probably have never met before. As a peer support worker, I am happy to think of myself as a doorman welcoming people into this community."

Jess Brake
Community Development
"Coming from a social research and policy background, I got involved with BDEF because I wanted to continue working to address inequality, discrimination, poverty and marginalisation, particularly in the Disability context."
Ruth Nortey
Co-Design and Co-Production
"Over the years I’ve worked in different Disability Equality roles to raise awareness of and reduce the barriers that disabled people experience trying to live the lives they want to. As a Black Disabled woman, I’m interested in increasing the voices of Disabled people who also experience other protected characteristics."
