What this looks like in our work
Disabled people organisations in Bristol have been involved in the development of a Co-Production Policy with Adult Social Care at Bristol City Council. This is due to the growing understanding that when services are co-produced by those who use them in their everyday lives, they are more likely to work.
SUSTAIN
Help to embed Co-Design and Co-Production in the way that Adult Social Care works on a day-to-day basis.
Collaborate
Connecting with and involving the voluntary sector and groups of people with lived expertise.
Engage
Organise and coordinate quarterly meetings of the Co-Production Policy Advisory Group.
Challenge
Support and challenge the council in embedding the Co-Production Policy.

"An equal relationship between people who use services and the people responsible for services. They work together, from design to delivery, sharing strategic decision-making about policies as well as decisions about the best way to deliver services."

What we're involved in
Adult Social Care
BDEF has taken on a commission from Adult Social Care at Bristol City Council to to develop Co-Design and Co-Production within Adult Social Care from a Disability Equality / Social Model of Disability perspective until March 2029.
