What we do
Community, connection and action
Bristol Disability Equality Forum (BDEF) is one of the only Disabled people led, pan-impairment organisations in the South West of the UK.
We work to connect Disabled people together, support Disabled people to take action on the things that are important to them and make sure Disabled people are involved in decision making that impact our everyday lives in Bristol.
Our pillars of work
All the work we do falls under four pillars: Voice and Influence, Peer Support, Community Development, and Co-Production.
Voice and influence
We want to make sure that voices of Disabled people are an essential part of decision making that impacts our everyday lives.
Peer support
We create spaces that help Disabled people connect, build friendships and support one another to live the lives they choose.
Community development
We open up ways for Disabled people to come together, reflecting geographical, community, interest-based ideas.
Co-production
Championing the importance of lived expertise and services co-produced by those who use them in their everyday lives.
Expert training for your team
With expertise in Disability Equality and accessibility, and strong connections with Bristol's Disabled community, BDEF can offer your organisation practical recommendations that can lead to real change.
Ways to get involved
From members meetings and monthly events to co-production opportunities, there's plenty of ways to get involved!
