Peer support
Connecting Disabled people in Bristol
BDEF’s peer support work focuses on creating spaces that helps Disabled people connect, share conversation and experiences, build friendships and social connections, and support one another to live the lives they choose.
What this looks like in our work
We hold weekly drop-in peer support sessions around the city and online.
Our sessions are informal, so you can just turn up on the day!
Use it as a space to talk about what is going on in your life.
We can support with suggesting other events.
If we can’t directly support with an issue, we can link you to organisations that can.

Roll and stroll
Quarterly, as part of our Peer Support work, we host a roll ‘n’ stroll which creates an accessible space where Disabled people can come together in nature, move at their own pace, and connect with others.
Time spent outdoors can support wellbeing, reduce stress and help people feel more connected to their local community and environment.
