BDEF’s 2025 AGM was an exciting place to be. We had quite a fewpeople say that it was the best AGM (which are known to be quiteboring) they had ever been to!
It was great to see all the Disabled people and allies who gatheredtogether to celebrate our first full year since becoming a neworganisation (from Bristol Disability Equality Forum to BDEF CIO).
It was a jam-packed schedule starting with a jargon buster exercise ledby our member Beth Richards.
What we got up to
- We had a lively discussion about our rebrand as an organisation with our members voting on which concept they wanted to progress with.
- We talked over our direction as an organisation for the next three years in our ‘Planning BDEF’s Future’ report.
- We awarded Dan Bourton with our ‘BDEF Rock’ award for sticking with the organisation throughout its transition time of 2023 – 2025 and being an incredibly valued member of staff.
- We hosted a BDEF Q&A session where members were able to ask questions of BDEF staff and trustees to find out more.
- We finalised co-producing BDEF’s open letter to employers.
- Our members voted to re-confirm our existing trustees and to have two new trustees join the board: Seb Harper-Fletcher and Terri Morgan.
- We finished with a quiz and social time … with cake!
You can read our open letter to employers - now available on our News and Stories section.
Thank you so much for our members and allies who joined us and looking forward to seeing you again at our AGM next year.
